Overview
This module will introduce you to the Scottish Education system. We will explore the purposes of education and how this translates into the pre-school, primary and secondary curriculum. The module will also provide an opportunity to compare the Scottish Education system with that of your own country or state. Particular issues to be addressed are comprehensive education, Curriculum for Excellence, school discipline and school uniforms, pre-school education and student identities.
Excursion(s):This module normally will include a visit to a local school to observe the Scottish education system in action.
