Overview
Justification
This subject is common to all Engineering Degrees in the industrial branch and develops the competence CE-RI-09 "Basic knowledge of production and manufacturing systems", included in the guidelines of the Order CIN/351/2009, of 9 February, which establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees that enable the exercise of the profession of Industrial Technical Engineer.Professionals in this branch can carry out projects related to:
The analysis, design and use of the main manufacturing technologies for the manufacture of industrial products, and the machines involved.
The analysis, design and development of production process designs that satisfy industrial requirements in very diverse fields, with a multidisciplinary, integrating and innovative perspective, adjusting them to technical limitations, knowing and respecting the existing standards, taking into account the necessary flexibility to carry out future modifications and considering other factors such as: cost, viability of the forces generated during the manufacturing processes.
This subject develops, firstly, the analysis of the main manufacturing technologies. Next, the numerical calculation methods for the determination of the working conditions of the different technologies are presented.
Finally, advanced manufacturing processes will be analysed as well as those in technological boom. Welding joining processes will also be studied.
In addition, according to the map of generic competences of the degree, this subject contributes to the integral training of the engineer by developing part of the competence "WRITTEN COMMUNICATION".
Subject competencies
The learning outcomes in terms of specific competences of the subject are:CE1. Analyse and describe processes, equipment, machines and other elements to design productive processes based on metal machining, taking into account technical requirements.
CE2. Analyse and describe processes, equipment, machines and other elements to design casting and plastic deformation production processes, taking into account technical requirements.
CE3. Understand and apply the fundamentals of joining by means of welding for its application in the joining of components.
Within the map of generic competences of the degrees, this subject develops the generic competence:CG 3 - WRITTEN COMMUNICATION.
Level of proficiency 1: Communicate correctly and clearly in written form what one thinks or feels with the appropriate resources, in brief writings.

EVALUATION SYSTEM
Assessable activities are divided into continuous assessment activities (CA) and final assessment activities (FA).
Continuous assessment activities (CA) carried out by the student throughout the semester:
* Assessment tests corresponding to CE1, which account for 40% of the final mark.
* Practicals which account for 5% of the final mark corresponding to CE1.
Final assessment activities (FA):
* Work carried out in groups to be delivered on the indicated date, which accounts for 15% of the final mark corresponding 10% to CE3 and 5% to CG3.
* Assessment test which is worth 40% of the final mark, of which 35% belongs to CE2 and 5% to CG3.
Ordinary examination period:
In order to pass the course in the ordinary examination period it is necessary:
To have completed the practical exercises and the work of the subject.
To obtain a minimum of 4 in the individual mark of each evaluation test.
To obtain a minimum of 5 in the overall average mark for the subject.
