Overview
Justification
This subject of the Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technologíes Engineering develops the competence CE-ME-08 "Applied knowledge of systems and manufacturing processes, metrology and quality control" included in the guidelines of the Order CIN/351/2009, of February 9, which stablishes the requirements for the verification of the official university degrees that enable the exercise of the profession of Industrial Technical Engineer.Professionals in this branch can integrate into their professional activity, design (CAD), calculation (CAE) and machining (CAM-CNC) tools for the improvement and optimization of the manufacturing processes in which they take part.
For this reason, this subject provides the student with applied knowledge about the manufacturing processes of industrial products. This includes the different steps that are followed to achieve the final product from the conceptual design, as well as the integration of CAD/CAM-CNC/CAE tools in this process, quality control and statistical control.
In addition, according to the map of generic competences of the title, this subject contributes to the integral formation of the engineer by developing part of the "PLANNING" competence.
Subject competencies
The learning outcomes in terms of the specific competences of this subject are:- CE1. Know the computer-based tools (CAD/CAM-CNC/CAE) for the development of industrial products and apply these tools to the machining, plastic forming and casting processes.
- CE2. Know the metrological instruments and the quality and statistical control techniques for their application and integration together with the CAD/CAM /CAE tools in the production processes with the objective that the pieces comply with the design requirements.
- CE3. Know the non-conventional processes and the characteristics of machine tools for the development of industrial products.
Within the map of generic competences of the degrees, this subject develops the generic competence:
- CG09. PLANNING. Mastery level: N2. Participate and integrate in the organized development of group work, anticipating the tasks, times and resources to achieve the desired results.

EVALUATION SYSTEM
Assessable activities are divided into continuous assessment activities (CA) and final assessment activities (FA).
Continuous assessment activities (CA) carried out by the student throughout the semester:
A series of projects that will be developed throughout the course and that will be delivered to the teacher on the indicated dates. These projects will be used to evaluate CE1 and their weight will be 65% of the final grade.
The generic competence (CG) will be evaluated through tasks that students will deliver to the teacher during the course, their weight being 10% of the final grade.
Therefore, the weight of the Continuous Assessment is 75% of the subject: 65% of the CE1 projects + 10% CG9.Final assessment activities (FA):
Assessment test which is worth 25% of the final grade, of which 15% belongs to CE2 and 10% to CG3.
Therefore, the final grade for the course will be the following: Projects CE1 (70%) + CG9 (10%) + Final Exam CE1 and CE2 (20%) = 100%.
Students who have not obtained a minimum of 40% in any of the projects of the CE1 evaluation will have the opportunity to make a recovery of said projects. This recovery will consist of projects similar to those of the first test.
Ordinary examination period:
In order to pass the course in the ordinary examination period it is necessary:
To obtain a minimum of 5 in the individual mark of each competence.
To obtain a minimum of 5 in the overall average grade for the subject.
Extraordinary examination period:Students who have not passed the subject in the ordinary exam must attend this exam. In the extraordinary examination period the student will have the possibility of recovering those competences that have not been passed by means of tests similar to those used in the the ordinary examination period.
Only those competences that have been passed, i.e. a mark higher than 5, will not be examinated again for the extraordinary exam. However, no competences will be kept for subsequent years.
In order to pass the subject in the extraordinary examination period, it is necessary:
To obtain a minimum of 5 in the individual mark of each competence.
To obtain a minimum of 5 in the overall average grade for the subject.
