OBJECTIVES
The main goal of the course is to reflect on our way of conceiving nature and to study its historical evolution through its literary representations. It is intended that by the end of the course the students will be able to:
1. Understand and assimilate basic knowledge about ecocriticism.
2. Identify and describe the canonical representations of nature in Latin American literature and its relation with contemporary environmental thought.
3. Improve their analytical and interpretive capacity so that they can apply the concepts acquired to any cultural expression.
4. Define a well-argued personal opinion about the different historical and political events studied in class.
5. Develop a deeper environmental consciousness based on a thoughtful reflection on our historical relation with nature.
