  • Overview

    Description
    These two advanced courses of Spanish have been designed for students who have completed
    three years of Spanish and although they may manage in daily tasks and interactions, they still
    need to improve their control over different oral and written registers. In addition, these courses will offer them the opportunity to enhance their vocabulary in specific and technical areas, and to improve grammatical accuracy in their oral and written expression.

    Learning Objectives
    After the successful completion of Track IV, the student will be able to:
    -investigate different cultural issues involving interaction with native speakers
    -compose a written summary of the investigated issue
    -organize an oral presentation with audiovisuals to report the results of the investigation
    -employ the needed tools to improve the coherence and the cohesion of the written texts
    -identify and describe the generalizations that rule language use
    -interpret literary work in depth with particular reference to their cultural keys.

    Assessment
    Tests: Partial- 25% + Final-25%= 50%
    Reading- 15%
    Project- 15%
    Duties and Personal work- 10%
    Participation in class- 10%
