Overview
COURSE OBJECTIVE
To understand the interaction between biosphere and geosphere.
Overall goal:
To gain experience in presenting in oral and written form. To give and receive criticism.
Students are encouraged to choose their own topic.COURSE CONTENT
The five big extinctions.
Is the Anthropocene a new geologic period?
Extraterrestrial life, yes or no?
The role of extremophiles in Earth History.
Theory of Evolution, Darwin and followers.
Gaia.TEACHING METHODS
In a series of presentations by teachers in biology and geology important events in Earth history for the developments of life will be given.
Flip the classroom.
In addition, the participants will choose subjects for oral and written presentation.
Literature studyTYPE OF ASSESSMENT
Participation (min. 70% present), oral and written presentation of the chosen subject.ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
