    Students become familiar with more advanced topics in mathematical statistics.

     

    Course Content

    The following topics will be treated in this course, all from a mathematical perspective:

    • Bayesian statistics
    • Decision Theory
    • Computational methods in statistics
    • Advanced hypothesis testing, including multiple testing

    Method of Assessment

    Written midterm and written final exam, each counting for 50% towards the final grade. The resit is a single exam.

    Mathematical statistics (year 2 bachelor); calculus, linear algebra, probability theory
