Overview
Course description:
In Spanish literature there is a wide range of voices that give rise to a challenging scenario for reading, studying, and investigating critical analysis. The legacy of the Spaniard literature contemporary to Cervantes is strengthened by the names of authers such as Francisco de Quevedo, Luis de Gongora, Lope de Vega, Pedro Calderon de la Barca and Garcilaso de la Vega. The course includes the works of 20th century writers such as Federico Garcia Lorca, Pedro Salinas, Juan Goytisolo, Camilo Jose Cela, Rosa Montero, Enrique Vila-Matas, amongst others.
Course objective: To describe the journey of Spanish literature and gain firsthand knowledge of the details that compose the region's literary work and to encourage in-depth reading.
Evaluation:
First midterm: 25% Class Participation: 10% Second midterm: 25% Final Exam: 40%
