Español Intermedio I [SPA 250S]LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION:Este curso será impartido en español, destinado para estudiantes con un nivel intermedio.CONTACT HOURS:El curso tiene un total de 45 horas lectivas, repartidas en 30 sesiones de 90 minutos.GENERAL COURSE DESCRIPTION AND COURSE OBJECTIVES:This course provides students with both the linguistic and socio-linguistic abilities to achieve an intermediate level of Spanish. It is focused on the grammatical and lexical knowledge as well as the practice of writing, reading, listening and speaking skills in order to improve the communicative competence in Spanish.COURSE OBJECTIVES:- Understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
- Deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling in an area where the language is spoken.
- Produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
- Describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
COURSE PRE-REQUISITES:Se require que el estudiante domine el nivel inicial, es decir, que haya adquirido un nivel A2, según el MCER (Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas).EVALUATION CRITERIA:Un examen parcial (20%)Un examen final (30%)Entrega de una composición (15%)Creación de un cortometraje (15%)Asistencia y participación en clase (20%)REQUIRED READINGS AND TEXTS:Borobio, Virgilio, Ele Actual B1. Libro del Alumno, SM, Madrid, 2011 será entregado a los estudiantes en su llegada a Cusco. El material de lectura adicional se les proporcionará a lo largo del curso.
