  • Overview

    The fundamental learning outcome of the course is the development of a critical perspective on the effects of the use and dissemination of information in society, and how such effects have been amplified by technology. How they contribute to shaping personal identity, the relationship between people, information systems, political action, entertainment, education, art, economic activities, and employment. Spaces for research, debate, and reflection will be created with students about digital cultures and the information ecosystems inherent to them, with the fundamental support of readings, podcasts, and videos (movies, series, documentaries). With these resources historical aspects, present events and possible future scenarios will be discussed. Students will be encouraged to actively participate during class sessions, and exchange points of view. Likewise, students will develop and present group projects every two sessions.
