  • Overview

    Curso dedicado al estudio de las sociedades de los Período Intermedio Temprano y Horizonte Medio (200 ? 900 d.C.) en la costa y sierra norte del Perú. Se analizan cirterios y sistemas cronológicos y se estudian detalladamente culturas y estilos regionales como Huarás-Recuay, Layzón-Cajamarca, Salinar-Virú-Moche, y Vicus, analizando sus particularidades y resaltando evidencias de interacción. Se proporciona evidencias estilísticas; se hace la caracterización de la cultura material, de la iconografía y de las tecnologías; se incide en las distintas manifestaciones de complejidad social y en las estrategias de poder de las elites. Se revisa las hispótesis interpretativas acerca de la organización socio-política para cada caso confrontado. Se evalúa las causas de las transformaciones observadas en la cultura material con énfasis en el caso Moche y el nuevo tipo de interacción Sur-Norte (fenómeno Wari).
