Overview
Curso que incide en el estudio de las principales corrientes antropológicas, históricas y sociológicas que afectaron el desarrollo de la teoría arqueológica desde mediados del siglo XIX hasta fines del siglo XX. Las principales corrientes teóricas analizadas incluyen el evolucionismo, estructuralismo, marxismo, y funcionalismo y sus reinterpretaciones dentro del pensamiento arqueológico. Se contrastan distintas metodologías de investigación y nociones de estructuración social. El análisis incide en la comparación de conceptos básicos como hecho y verdad, ley y regularidad históricas, cultura, estructura y sistema.
