Overview
This course explores the cinematic and audiovisual genre of science fiction from a narrative and mythological perspective. Through critical analysis of landmark films and contemporary visual media, students will explore how science fiction utilizes greek mythology, character archetypes, the hero's journey, and artificial intelligence to construct imaginative worlds and reflect on contemporary issues, as well as the influence of digital technology on the aesthetics and narrative of audiovisual productions. Students will analyze case studies from current films and series, participate in discussions, and develop projects applying the concepts learned.
