Global Remote Internships 

ISA's Global Remote Internships combine the experience of working for a company abroad while earning optional academic credit of a college-level internship with the ease and comfort of staying at home. It’s a global professional experience without the cost associated with travel. Our program provides a unique approach to navigating a virtual internship with processes that enable participants to gain a robust global experience through guided and structured platforms. Students will have access to multiple career readiness resources throughout the internship, such as professional mentors, career readiness techniques and more while gaining experience working with an international organization! Students will also have the ability to earn a micro-credential which can be posted to their LinkedIn profile upon successful completion of the internship.

• - Minimum 2.5 GPA
• - English proficiency (no other language proficiency required, although some knowledge of Spanish is helpful if placed with an organization in Spain)
• - All participants must have their own home computer/laptop and access to internet

• Step 1: Apply on the ISA website and pay the $95 application fee
• Step 2: Submit additional application materials such as your resume, unofficial transcript, internship supplemental form
• Step 3: Pay a $405 referral deposit in ISA student portal *
• Step 4: Your application is then sent to placement team
• Step 5: Placement team confirms an internship/project
• Step 6: Pay the final program fee by Payment Deadline *
• * only applies to students whose university does NOT have a direct billing agreement set up with ISA

• Our Cross-Cultural Toolbox is designed specifically for our remote interns. While these interns may not be physically in their host country, they still have daily interactions with colleagues coming from a variety of backgrounds. We want to encourage that interaction and aid students in their intercultural competence as they progress through their remote internship. The Cross-Cultural Toolbox is a compilation of resources that students will access before and during their internship experience which will enhance their cultural learning. Participants will start with an intercultural competence assessment during our virtual pre-program orientation and then receive regular communication packed with content relevant to the culture of the country in which they are interning. Our team will also hold "coffee catch ups", just as we do when students are on-site, in order to discuss topics of cultural significance and what they have learned from their experience.

The only additional costs required are a personal laptop/home computer and internet access. Neither ISA nor the host organization can provide this to participants. Should students select to use ISA's school of record for academic credit, a $375 charge will be added to the program fee.

You can simply participate just for the experience! We have updated our co-curricular activities to provide the necessary structure for the internship without requiring academic credit.

Yes, however graduate students should expect to be working with undergraduates on group project internships.

• -Individual placements- 27 hours per week for the 10-week program and 12 hours per week for the 16-week program

• - Students need to recognize that there will be some evening or early morning hours required because the companies are located in the Asia/Pacific region or in Europe. Participants should expect to have weekly or even daily meetings (depending on the project) with their internship supervisor located in abroad. However, all host organizations recognize that interns are typically located in the U.S. and will accommodate so that the majority of work can be completed in U.S. time zones.
