Designed for students at the high advanced level of the Spanish language (5 or more semesters of college-level Spanish), this program is an ideal option for those hoping to have an immersive experience in Buenos Aires.
You will have the opportunity to enroll in any classes from the regular course listing at the Universidad de Belgrano, where you will learn alongside Argentinian students and be taught by Argentinian faculty. You will also be able to enroll in courses offered in the stand-alone Latin American Studies program, where you will take classes with fellow international students. The Latin American Studies program is specifically designed for foreign students, and courses are instructed in both Spanish and English. It is important to note that, if enrolled in this program, you must complete at least one course with local students throughout the semester. Students who do not wish to enroll in at least one course with local students must switch to the Latin American Studies program.
You may add an intensive month session as a preface to the semester programs at the Universidad de Belgrano.
Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
Minimum Admissions Prerequisites
Students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of five semesters (seven quarters) of college-level Spanish. Students with only four semesters must enroll in an Intensive Month prior to the start of the program in order to be eligible.
Please be aware that courses with Argentine students often change due to course schedule conflicts, enrollment, etc. While ISA makes every effort to maintain a current course list on the ISA website, course enrollment cannot be guaranteed until students arrive onsite. If you must take specific courses with locals for graduation, please contact your Site Specialist to check on the likelihood that they will be offered during your specific term abroad.
