Housing Information

ISA Housing provides the opportunity for students to experience aspects of the Chinese lifestyle that are inaccessible to the average visitor of Shanghai. Students will have the advantage of living on the East China Normal University campus in dormitories. The experience of living in another culture will be both educational and rewarding so long as you stay open-minded and reasonable at all times. There are differences in culture and lifestyle between life in China and the U.S. Remember: the key to a positive experience is flexibility. With this in mind, you can have an amazing stay in Shanghai!

Please note: All housing is subject to availibility.

Dorms
ISA participants will stay in any of the East China Normal University's on-campus dormitories for international students. The dorms are located on the west side of campus, and are close to the ISA office, the classrooms, and some of the campus cafeterias. Shopping areas and restaurants in the nearby residential areas are also easily accessibly. ISA students may be roomed with a fellow ISA student, a local student, or another international student. Bedrooms are double occupancy and include internet connection, air conditioning, bedding, and cleaning service for the public areas. Shared same-sex bathrooms are located on each floor, as is a communal kitchen. Laundry facilities are located in the building and can be used at an additional cost. All dorm rooms are same-sex, non-smoking environments.

Independent Housing (semester and summer)
Students may opt to secure housing independently. Students who select this option receive a discount equal to the housing portion of the program price.
