While at Musashi, all students are required to enroll in at least 16 Musashi credits. A Japanese language course is required, and students are able to choose from other courses taught in English, totaling up to a maximum of 20 Musashi credits.

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.75.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

There is no language prerequisite for this program.

Students must have at least sophomore standing (second year) at their home university at the time of participation.

Students must also include the following items along with their standard ISA application:

  • One color passport copy
  • One Letter of Recommendation
  • Program Supplemental Admission Form
  • Study Plan
  • Japanese Skill Level Assessment
  • Confirmation of Enrollment at home university
  • Financial Proof of a minimum of ¥100,000 JPY/month (approximately $4,000 USD for the semester)
  • Proof of medical clearance by a practicing physician to participate in study abroad program
  • Five (5) photos (Japanese Alien Registration Card size 4cm x 3cm)

Students will receive these additional ISA Tokyo application documents and instructions in their ISA Student Portal after submitting their initial online ISA application. All application materials must be received on or before the application deadline. Please contact the ISA Japan Program Manager for more details.

Students may participate in the Spring + Fall "Semester + Semester" sessions of this program for a discount by selecting these two semesters of interest when submitting the initial ISA online application. For more information about this option, please contact your Tokyo Site Specialist.
