ISA Meknes Study CenterFall 1 2017 + Service-Learning (Sep 5, 2017 to Dec 9, 2017)
Catalog Code: IMKEF1117
This program is designed for students with little or no Arabic or French language experience that are interested in participating in a service-learning program in addition to their academic semester.
A highlight feature of this program is the ability to enroll in two Arabic or French courses. If a student wishes to progress through one full level, ie. Beginning Arabic I and II, they may do so and earn up to a years worth of credit hours. Students cannot progress through two different levels ie. Beginning Arabic II and Intermediate I.
Additionally, students are required to enroll in an Arabic or French language course if they have taken less than one semester or one quarter of either language.
Upon completion of the program, students will receive a U.S. transcript from Carroll College in Montana.
Students will begin their program in Casablanca, with a multi-day orientation excursion before traveling to Meknes.
Service-Learning placements are coordinated by ISA and have no affiliation with the university. Students will develop a Portfolio throughout the program, documenting their projects, hours, and program activities.
Students can earn 1-6 credits based on the number of contact hours accrued at the host organization and successful completion of the Portfolio. Visit the Academic Credit page of the ISA Service-Learning website for more information.
