Universidad del Pacífico

The Universidad del Pacífico (UP) was founded in 1962 by a group of Peruvian Jesuits. The UP is the most celebrated University in Peru in its areas of specialization: Economics, Business Administration and Accounting. It is fully accredited by the Peruvian Ministry of Education and considered one of the leading institutions of its kind in Latin America. The Universidad del Pacífico is also accredited by the Association to Advanced Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

The UP is located in Lima's Jesús María district and currently enrolls approximately 3,000 students at the undergraduate level and another 1,200 enrolled in graduate programs. Around 220 international students attend the university annually. Undergraduate degrees in Economics, Business Administration and Accounting are offered, with subject areas including, but not limited to, Spanish Language, Business, International Studies, Finance, Management, Latin American Studies, Political Science and History.

ISA students attending the UP have complete access to all the university's facilities just as any local student would. The students receive a Universidad del Pacífico student identification card as well as a library card. These credentials give the student access to the library, use of the computer lab for a maximum of 100 hours, and entrance into any university activity, which includes the student union and extra-curricular activities. The university is also equipped with wireless internet capabilities in the cafeterias, libraries and study halls. The Information Technology Department at the UP is able to configure the student's laptop to the university wireless network. Students are also able to meet with professors during office hours or make appointments.

The UP's Centro de Idiomas (Language Center) offers Italian, English and Spanish for foreigners. The Spanish for Foreigners Program uses a highly communicative methodology based on carefully prepared lesson plans designed to promote creativity, confidence and organization. The Centro de Idiomas also offers supplementary materials created by the professors themselves, classes on Peruvian history and culture, and field trips to important historical/cultural sites. Spanish language courses average 20 students per class, with a 5-person minimum. The other courses average 30-40 students per class.

Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú

The PUCP was ranked first among tertiary educational institutes in Peru by América Economia in 2014. Studies in the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú are organized in the following manner:

Introductory Level
The Humanities General Studies Program consists of a series of introductory courses for students intending to study in the Arts and Humanities, Communication Arts and Sciences, Social Sciences, Management and Law Schools. The Science General Studies Program consists of a series of courses for students intending to study in the Science and Engineering School. General Studies Programs last approximately two years.

Undergraduate Level
These studies enable students to obtain the academic bachelor's degree and professional titles corresponding to the different areas of specialization, which lasts approximately three years. It is important to remember that the academic programs tend to be longer than in many other countries, since professional formation starts at the undergraduate level.
