Course Credit & Structure

  • Students only enroll in one module per session.
  • Per King's College London, the modules listed below are 45 contact hours and are typically awarded 3-4 US semester credits/4.5-6 quarter units.
  • Credit transfer is ultimately determined by the student’s home university.
  • Teaching takes place each week from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday typically during either the morning or the afternoon, but will depend on the module and daily activity. External trips or visits may involve journey/travel time outside of normal classroom hours.

Course Level Recommendations

  • ISA offers course level recommendations for the courses listed in the King's College Module Catalog. Please note that the course level recommendations are based on the King's College module level classifications of a 4, 5, or 6 level, which correspond with the three year bachelor's degree cycle. Courses classified as level 5 and level 6 are considered upper division and recommended for juniors and seniors with 3000- and 4000-level of experience in the subject. These King's College and ISA recommendations are intended to facilitate the determination of course equivalencies by advisors and credential evaluators at participants' U.S. home institutions.
  • If a student does not have the necessary pre-requisite experience, King's College will not approve them for the course. Students will then provide additional module choices.

Understanding the Course Code (EX: 4ENGL003W)

  • the first number refers to the level (4= Level 4, 5= Level 5, 6= Level 6)
  • the following four letters refer to the department the course is being offered through (ENGL=English)
  • the last numbers/letters refer to the unique number assigned to the class
