The module offers an overall introduction to the field of Intercultural Studies and its relevance to the contemporary world. It aims above all at breadth of coverage, so that students from different programmes can see the overall reach and relevance of this discipline.
1. identify the issues in contemporary society which are addressed by Intercultural Studies
2. use the specialist vocabulary of intercultural studies
3. evaluate the usefulness of a range of analytical tools in the analysis of real-world intercultural situations
4. express his/her own position on intercultural issues which are subject to debate
